Yesterday I received the first advance copy of my new book ‘Portsmouth’s World War Two Heroes’ through the post.
The publishers inform me that the book will be leaving the distributors warehouse early next week, so hopefully we should start seeing books appearing on the bookshelves and through the online outlets in the near future!

Gosh!
Do you confine yourself to 20th century British military history? The Falklands issue, whilst interesting, is clearly less significant in terms of international geopolitical development than for example Arab Spring.
I guess you could say I’m an evidence-based historian really… my background is in analysing primary and secondary sources, and for a lot of the modern events we haven’t yet got a body of sources to work with. With the 30 year rule we have to wait a while for official documents to come out. Hence I’m looking forward to the release of Falklands papers hopefully later this year. Thinking well ahead, from 2031 onwards we should get files relating to Afghanistan and Iraq.
Congratulations James! Look forward to reading it.
Congratulations, and well done!
Well done James. The publisher has promised me a review copy and I look forward to reading it.
Great, hope you enjoy it!
